Privacy Policy
Version v0.1-alpha
Effective Date: January 16, 2026
Cultiv8 ("Cultiv8," "we," "us," "our") provides an AI-assisted learning platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Who this applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to information we process when you use the Service, create an account, or otherwise interact with us.
Age restriction: The Service is not intended for anyone under 16. If you are under 16, do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three categories:
A) Account information (you provide)
- Email address
- Username
- Password (stored in hashed form; we do not store plaintext passwords)
B) Learning and product usage information (generated by your use)
- Progress and learning activity (e.g., completed lessons/quizzes, scores, XP, ranks/levels, streaks, energy/credits usage)
- Session and event activity (e.g., session start/end times, inactivity timeouts, event timestamps)
- Performance and reliability metrics (e.g., error events, latency flags)
C) Technical information (automatically collected)
- Device/browser and basic log data (e.g., IP address, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP for security/abuse prevention, request metadata)
- Authentication and security signals (e.g., failed login attempts)
What we do NOT intentionally collect: We do not request sensitive personal data (like government IDs, health data, or precise location). Please do not include sensitive personal information in prompts.
3. AI processing and OpenAI
The Service uses third-party AI model providers (currently OpenAI) to generate responses.
When you send content (e.g., a question or message) to the Service, we may transmit that content and associated instructions/context to OpenAI solely to generate the requested output and operate the Service.
- We do not sell your prompts or outputs.
- We do not allow third parties to advertise to you based on your prompts.
- We may apply technical safeguards (e.g., rate limits, abuse detection) to protect the Service.
4. Chat history and prompts
Current status: We do not currently store full prompt/chat transcripts by default.
Planned feature: We may add an option for users to save and revisit chats. If/when enabled:
- Saved chats would be associated with your user account and stored for your convenience and product improvement.
- You will have a way to delete saved chats, and you may request full deletion of your saved content.
5. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the Service (account access, learning flows, progress tracking, features)
- Improve and develop the Service (debugging, product iteration, quality improvements)
- Maintain safety, security, and integrity (abuse prevention, fraud detection, troubleshooting)
- Communicate with you (support, important account notices, policy updates)
- Measure performance and usage in aggregate (e.g., usage statistics, feature adoption)
6. Payments and Stripe
If you purchase paid features, payments will be processed by Stripe or another payment processor.
- We do not store your full payment card details. Stripe handles card processing.
- We may store limited payment-related metadata (e.g., subscription status, product purchased, last four digits, billing country) as necessary to provide access, prevent fraud, and handle refunds. We aim to store as little as practical.
7. How we share information
We share information only as needed:
- Service providers that help us run the Service (e.g., hosting, databases, email delivery, payment processing, AI providers). They are permitted to process data only on our instructions for providing services to us.
- Legal and safety reasons (to comply with law, enforce policies, protect rights/safety, prevent fraud or abuse).
- Business transfers (if we undergo a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction).
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
8. Data retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Service,
- Meet legal obligations,
- Resolve disputes,
- Enforce agreements,
- Maintain security.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information longer because it does not identify you.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access your information
- Correct your information
- Delete your account and associated personal information
- Request a copy/export of your data (may be manual during alpha)
How to request: Contact us at Info@cultiv8.info. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International users
We may process and store information in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Service and/or email. The "Effective date" will reflect the latest revision.
